What's giving you Joy today?

Just a random blog about yesterday. 

As I was taking one of our ESOL student home last night, I noticed this guy walking on the sidewalk with a huge grin on his face, then I saw what he was carrying and it all made sense why he was so happy! In his hand was a huge fish, maybe about the same length as his arm. (This area of Cleveland is within a mile from Lake Erie) His joy was so contagious, Midiam and I just looked at each other and smiled with him. After dropping Midiam off at home, I saw that guy walking home happily. It was as if he was dancing with joy. I wished I had taken a photo of him to share, but I was too focused on getting to a gas station because I only had 13 miles of gas left in my car. Regardless of my situation of running low on gas because I forgot to get gas before heading out for ESOL class last night, I am thankful I was asked to take Midiam home. Otherwise I would have missed out on seeing this fisherman walking home with his catch. 
 
Point is... I think the Lord was trying to teach me a lesson here... to remember to remain joyful. I know it's hard to see the joy in our lives when we're doing the same things over and over, or going through a hard season in our lives. I was reminded to find joy in the little things. I'm reminded to celebrate the little things in life. I pray that I remain joyful in all seasons, even when it's uncomfortable and unclear for me.

  Hello Family and Friends. The weather in Cleveland is starting to get cooler and sweaters are coming out of the closet. But before we welcome the Fall season, I want to update you on our wonderful summer at Envision Cleveland! Now that we have wrapped up our summer programs, I want to provide you with an update from this summer on how we participated in engaging, educating, and empowering our communities. Engage Our summer teams helped us run 7 weeks of youth camps at the Bridge, Elton Ave. Garden, Concerned Citizens Community Council (C4), and Grace Old Brooklyn. Our kids had a blast! Still Chasing Sunrise

Who would have thought that mere a trip across the ocean 10 years ago would lead to where I am today? From the sunrise over Burma to the sunrise in Cleveland, God remains the same.  Those who know me well know that I hold Burma closely to my heart. I didn't know it then, but there was a reason why my heart was so heavy after coming home from Burma. God changed my heart in ways that I didn't know how to put into words. For a long time, I kept searching for that "why" and that "something" to fill the emptiness in my heart. I kept trying to fill this emptiness with things of the world with a career, school, ministries, people, trips, etc. Through it all, God was molding me for this moment. He was teaching me through life experiences. He was preparing me for the good and hard times. He was teaching me to be obedient. He was teaching me to live in faith. And that's a wrap!

I know it's been a while, but I'm still here... in Cleveland, OH. Not going anywhere for a while until the Lord calls me else where. I'm also doing well. Keeping myself busy with working at the Preschool and with Envision. In the meantime, I am slowly finding my words to put it into writing about everything. There's just so much to share! I will be sharing more about my transition to Cleveland and working with Envision Cleveland, as well as updates on the sites in another blog. However, I do want to share a snip bit of what October has been like for me.  Over the month of October, we had weekend teams every weekend and we had our last team for the year this past weekend, so that's a wrap ya! 😊😊 Although their trips were only for the weekend, I'm thankful for each team and each person on the team.
